A new Clinical Consultant position is open in the Children's Mental Health Division at the Minnnesota Department of Human Services, for a licensed mental health professional with qualifications in child and adolescent mental health diagnosis and treatment.

The Clinical Consultant will administer and enforce clinical quality standards for children’s mental health programs, particularly Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS). The incumbent will develop a statewide clinical compliance program and provide consultation to mental health providers to enhance clinical quality and improve treatment outcomes.

Successful completion of an accredited graduate-level education program (masters or doctoral) in one of the mental health professional disciplines recognized in Minnesota is required. Education and clinically-supervised post-graduate practice must include specific competencies in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of child and adolescent psychiatric disorders.

Current knowledge of the children’s mental health field is required and is demonstrated by having engaged within the last 24 months in direct clinical practice or clinical program administration or clinically-related mental health policy development.

This is a permanent full-time position in a top-level State professional job class. The state job class is called State Program Administrator Coordinator; the working title will be Clinical Consultant.

    working in collaboration with direct care staff to help resolve issues as
    they arise. Work in collaboration with direct care staff to guarantee that
    the employer is given a positive experience and is satisfied with the
    program;
  • Conduct job placement follow-up with Hearthstone youth to keep informed of
    their progress, to determine the satisfaction level of their experience, and
    to help youth strategize against potential barriers to employment success;
  • Design a method for assessment of satisfaction levels of on-going
    participating employers, one-time participating employers, youth, staff, and
    program goals and objectives;

Qualifications:

  • Education in the areas of social work, psychology, marriage and family
    therapy, or related human services, bachelor's or master's degree or
    equivalent experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of issues related to the employment needs of youth with
    emotional and behavioral disturbances;
  • Knowledge of the skills required for a variety of occupations;

Education Level:

Juvenile Center Nursing Position
Many Rivers Regional Juvenile Center in Rochester, MN is seeking a registered nurse/public health nurse to work with juveniles in residential treatment and detention up to 24 hours per week. The position can be combined with an additional 16 hours per week in the adult detention center. Duties include assessment, treatment, immunizations, monitoring medications and records management.
